Description
Cave is around the Makana area, where the paved road has ended. Dirt road continues and the cave is very near the sea, or Kai.
Goes into the mountain maybe up to 150 yards or so, legend says it was used as a alter to the shark diety. Interesting energy, I went inside for a look and it was around
mid-day, there’s enough light then to see around the depths of the cave then. It looked as if the ocean would come in at times. Not a place to play around, still considered sacred to most. I meant a couple of spearfishermen that were coming up with a
nice catch from the wall of the cliff at the front of the cave., They were friendly to me and good natured. I did this rendering around this area. As a rule of thumb I would suggest having a hiking buddy in this area, to watch out for each other. I had a great time on my own but it’s quite a isolated spot!
